“Fear and hopelessness ruled my life. Love was an elusive ideal and trust felt unnecessary. After all, I could do it all on my own, right? Too many attempts at confidence, bravery, and self-sufficiency drove me to further isolation. On this road I have learned a few things. Hope is an act of courage and love is a necessity in trust.

In "I thought it Was Just Me (but it isn't)", Brene' Brown lists these 12 categories of shame: “Appearance and body image, motherhood, family, parenting, money and work, mental and physical health, sex, aging, religion, being stereotyped and labeled, speaking out, and surviving trauma."

I have experienced the shame of all these and really don't know whether to laugh or cry! And I'm sure I'm not the only one. And that makes me want to cry.

And then I remember I am never alone.

I think about a wonderful Father in Heaven who made me, loves me, and endured the gut-wrenching pain of his Son's death. All for you and me. And I think about how that Son sacrificed his life for me. Battling death and the grave, defeating the Devil with resurrection life. All for you and me. And I think about the Holy Spirit, given so we can live a resurrection life in Jesus Christ today.

In great abundance.

Without fear.

LAUGHING, looking forward to the time to come.

Come laugh with me.”
